Dahlia provide some of the garden's brightest and most spectacular blooms. They are available in many different forms, sizes, and gorgeous colors. Many recognize dahlias as cut flowers, and while they do make for exceptional arrangements, they also deserve recognition as garden plants. Dahlias are labeled as perennials, but dahlias are not reliably perennial in zones 7 and below. You can choose to grow them as annuals and replace them the following spring, or dig and store the tubers over the winter.
